I recently stayed at a charming and superbly clean cottage in Higham for a few days. The bed in the bigger bedroom was incredibly comfortable, and the kitchen was well laid out with everything you need. The small conservatory off the kitchen was a great place to relax, and the courtyard garden was lovely. The attention to detail was exceptional, from the books and toys left for our children to the bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for us. We had a wonderful time and would definitely stay again.
Totally recommend this hotel.

The cottage was absolutely charming and had everything we could possibly need. It was spotlessly clean and very well equipped. The owners were extremely responsive and helpful. The enclosed garden was perfect for our furry friend. We loved the welcome note and gifts, it was such a kind gesture. The log burners added a cozy touch, and sitting by the fire with a glass of wine after a long day of walks was just perfect.
One small inconvenience was that the curtains in the bedroom windows could have been thicker/darker. The sunlight in the evenings made it difficult for our little one to fall asleep.

The cottage was well-equipped and spotlessly clean, making it feel like a home away from home. The attention to detail was impressive, with lots of little items that added to the welcoming atmosphere. The location was ideal for revisiting the Derbyshire Dales area.
The beds were much firmer than we are used to, which made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. This was a personal preference and may not be a problem for others.

We had a fantastic New Year's stay! The cottage was one of the best equipped we've ever stayed in, with everything we needed and more. The location was perfect for exploring the surrounding area, with plenty of attractions within a short drive. The village was peaceful and quiet, and we loved relaxing in the lovely conservatory and secluded garden. The barbecue area was a real bonus for enjoying some outdoor cooking. we couldn't fault the cleanliness and attention to detail, making it a real home from home.
There were only a couple of minor things that we felt could be improved. it would have been great to have a freeview play TV instead of just a streaming service.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this charming cottage. the atmosphere was warm and cosy, making us feel right at home. the bedrooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable. the bathroom was large and well-equipped. the hosts paid great attention to detail, providing thoughtful touches like books and toys for the kids and a bottle of Prosecco for us. the kitchen had excellent facilities and the sitting areas were warm and sunny. the cottage was also spotlessly clean, leaving us with nothing to complain about.
The pictures in the bedrooms didn't have as much character and charm as the ones in the downstairs areas, but that's just a minor complaint.

We had a fantastic weekend at the cottage! The house itself was beautiful, with a charming and traditional feel. It was also very clean and well-maintained. The location was great, with several local pubs within walking distance and easy access to nearby towns like Matlock. One of our favorite features was the well-equipped kitchen, which made family mealtimes a breeze.
The lack of heating in the upstairs bedroom. We stayed during a particularly cold weekend, and despite the two wood burners in the house, it could get quite chilly in some areas.

The location of the accommodation is perfect, with beautiful views of the nearby gardens and fields from the upstairs window. The bathroom is fabulous, with a large size and the option of a shower or a claw foot bath. The kitchen is also spacious and well-equipped, including a professional style oven/stovetop.
The curtains at the bedroom windows could have been thicker and darker, as the sunlight makes it difficult to get a baby to sleep in the early evening. It would be helpful if a blackout blind was installed to address this issue.

The kitchen was well-equipped, and we loved gathering around the dining table for family meals. The location was perfect, with breathtaking views from the upstairs window and easy access to local pubs and nearby attractions. The owners were responsive and helpful. Highly recommend!

This cottage is absolutely mind-blowing! It's beautifully decorated with so much attention to detail. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warmth and cleanliness. The log burners were ready to go, keeping us nice and cozy. The owners have truly thought of everything, providing little extras like hand moisturizer, cling film, and even dog treats! The beds were super comfy, and the farmhouse-style kitchen was well equipped with a great range cooker. The large, beautiful bathroom had a roll-top bath and an enclosed shower. We loved sitting in the small conservatory, enjoying a cuppa and reading a book. The enclosed garden was perfect for alfresco dining. The owners made us feel right at home, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming stay. The location was excellent, with easy access to stunning countryside and fun activities like hiking, cycling, and horseback riding. Communication with the owners was also top-notch. We had such a wonderful stay at Pathways Cottage. The beautiful 300-year-old house had so much character and charm. It was spacious and had different areas where we could relax. The kitchen was well equipped, and we enjoyed having family meals around the dining table. The location was also great, with local pubs within walking distance and attractions like Matlock just a short drive away. We felt cozy and warm with the wood burners in the house, especially in the large bedroom where we stayed. The welcome note and thoughtful gifts were a lovely touch. We had everything we needed and would highly recommend this cottage. it was a fantastic experience.
While the house was generally warm, we did feel a bit chilly in some parts of the cottage. The upstairs large bedroom, in particular, didn't have sufficient heating options, and we weren't comfortable using the additional electric radiator due to concerns about the electricity bill.

Our stay at Pathways Cottage was absolutely fantastic. The house was impeccably clean and the attention to detail was remarkable. The beds were incredibly comfortable and we loved the spacious bathroom. The hosts really thought of everything and the cottage was equipped with everything we could possibly need. We were pleasantly surprised to find books and toys for our children and a bottle of Prosecco waiting for us in the fridge. The smart TV with wifi was a great bonus, and we appreciated the extensive guest information provided on walks and dining options. The conservatory and garden were peaceful and the kitchen was well-equipped. We also loved the large bathroom and the prompt resolution of a slight problem with the bath by the owner. The property itself is beautifully decorated and has a charming, historic feel. We enjoyed the enclosed garden for our puppy and the fans provided came in handy during the heat. The location is convenient for exploring the area and the kitchen, with its central dining table, was perfect for family meals.
The single glazing made commuter traffic noticeable, especially in the mornings. Off-road parking is not available.
